By: adam b /olympics-2008-boxing-wrestling-tae-kwon-do-judo/comment-page-1/#comment-1669 adam b Thu, 18 Jun 2009 08:42:44 +0000 /?p=85#comment-1669 i agree with what you say about olympic taekwondo. but there are actually to different federations of TKD both with different rule sets. the olympic ( world taekwondo federation) and traditional ( International taekwondo federation) the traditional type of TKD is very similar to shotokan karate and punches to the head are allowed. i belive that the traditional style should be in the olympics as it is the original version of TKD. the WTF version took away the punching to the head rule to put emphasis on kicking techniques and make it more unique and due to korean pride erase the similarities between TKD and shotokan.
