I just reviewed a website by Erik Kondo called “Not-Me!” Eric is a paraplegic that has a message for people that do not want to be victims… he calls it “Not-Me!” His message takes into account the training-level, the mind-set, and four levels of tactics and techniques. Please take a moment to see what this is about. When I was a boy I heard the story about Okinawa being taken over by the Japanese and all weapons being outlawed! The Okinawans started co-opting farming tools as weapons. The dreaded nuchucku (chucks) are actually rice beaters. I was exposed to all of the traditional martial arts weapons but I noticed after “Enter the Dragon” was released – many martial arts weapons were banned. Lots of kids bought chucks and were hurting themselves and others due to their lack of skill and prudence. Full Story »

I found this story about a hobo (I know – not politically correct) grabbing an eight-year-old girl by the hair. Well this girl was not having any of it and tried to get away but then executed apparently a perfect scoop kick! Full Story »

I just read a story about a nine-year-old boy escaping a kidnapping attempt! The boy was playing and a man told the boy to come with him. The man then sprayed pepper-spray on kid and grabbed him. The boy fought back and escaped. Full Story »

I saw a story on CNN about a guy robbing a clerk with a rifle. The clerk was trying to get the money while the robber tried to shoot him! Luckily the rifle just clicked so the clerk figured he had nothing to loose and fought back! The clerk deflected the rifle and wrestled for it (the rifle). The robber then ran away! Full Story »

This sounds like a crazy question but I guess we should talk about this. I was reviewing other blogs and found references to some self-defense moves as being inherently illegal (I’m paraphrasing). I think this should be a good time to look at what is self-defense and what is legal. Full Story »
