I just got done watching watching the fight and was amazed at how Manny Pacquiao was able to move. Antonio Margarito was no slouch but I would say after the fourth round is was easy to see that he was slowing down. In my unofficial scorecard – Manny was ahead in all 12 rounds. Margarito’s best round I think was in the 6th where if I remember right he caught Pacquiaoon the ropes with some body shots and an uppercut.
The 10th and 11th rounds were very one sided as Antonio Margarito stopped answering Manny Pacquiano’s punches. I was wondering why the judges did not stop the fight as Margarito also had many cuts on his face. I guess since this was a title fight for the Super Welterweight division and Margarito wanted to keep going – the referee decided to risk the significant damage to the head of Margarito. I think that was a bad decision but I noticed that Pacquiao laid off the 12th round as he was easily ahead and did not have to keep up the heavy leather – what a show of good sportsmanship.
You will have to watch the fight to get the full gist of the action but the judges scored the 12 round bout, 120-108, 119-109, and 118-110 for a unanimous decision for Manny Pacquiao!

He didn’t have quite the same snap as in the Oscar, Cotto and Hatton fights and I wondered why, as a southpaw, he kept moving to his left. I’m sure he knew what he was doing
– he managed to land a shit load of big left hands down that’s for sure. Margo looked slower than usual but never stopped walking up, and hung tough in there.

ESPN’s using words like “pummels” and “demolishes” in headlines to describe the Pacquiao fight. Damn! How can anyone believe in Mayweather?

Hi Gwyneth,
Pacquiao seemed to move based on his opponent. He eventually did mix a lot of moving to the right. He is a bit unorthodox but that seemed to be working for him – at least last night.
I liked Margo’s approach in the beginning but I thought he should have transitioned to jab and move (and start picking his shots) when he saw chasing Manny down was not working. I don’t think he was in shape to work the ring like Pack man though.

That fight was Incredible and I agree, Manny showed great restraint in that last round. He could have done much more damage to his opponent (which he probably did in preceding rounds) and is, in my book, a classy fighter.

Damn, youtube blocked access to us Aussies. Have read reports of the fight, though and sounds like Margarito was a warrior indeed for continuing in his condition, and PacMan a great sportsman. Wished I could have seen it!

Pacquio is amazing!! Now I understand why on some MMA sites they want to see him fight Aldo for a real test of both men.

Very nice fight.Both have different mind set but same on field.Real test for both.Pacquio is good but margarito is not far away from him.Very nice fight.Close call both of them are.
