It is time again for some good matches in the WEC. After the Faber vs Brown upset last year Faber is going back against one of his toughest opponents – Jens Pulver. Both Faber and Pulver are coming off of losses so this should promise to be a good fight. WEC 38 promises to have some good fights.
I saw Miguel Torres against Manny Tapia last year amazed at Torres’s bag of tricks… As I recall he did an axe kick (just missing) shortly before ending the bought – totally dominating Tapia in WEC 37.
I end up watching more of the WEC as I used to watch Pride because it is on free TV. I would like to watch UFC but in this economy I cannot bring myself to spend $50 bucks on a fight. WEC 38 is in San Diego but I don’t want to sit up in the top levels and see very little when my easy chair gets a great view in my living room.
This is why I am more familiar with the WEC fighters than the UFC. I know Frank Mir as a great referee more so than as a fighter because I mostly watch the WEC. I’m going to have to do something about this soon as I know I am missing out on some great UFC fights (except for the occasional replays on free TV.
Anyway WEC 39 promises to be good too as Brown vs Garcia & Condit vs Larson. I really enjoy seeing Carlos Condit fight. He looks like a skinny kid but he is more like an Anaconda in the ring!
Enjoy the fights!

Hey Wyatt! I watched the fight yesterday and was similarly unimpressed! I think Mir worked his game tentatively so as to not get knocked out by a leg kick… Krocop was even more defensive… I don’t think he threw more than five kicks… spent most of his time defending against the take down attempts.
Fights like this are only good if you are the winner.
